The room was lit up from the morning sun as the intense sound was filling the room. It came from a small alarm clock that sat on a wooden bed head, the constant beeping was getting more annoying as it continued. He wiped his eyes as he tried to figure out what time and day it was. He reached up to the clock and grabbed it, putting it into a position he could actually see the time with, and it showed 9:43 am. Eyes widening, the covers flew off the bed instantly as he got up and out landing both feet on the floor as he seemed to frantically try and get dressed and ready.
"Darn it! I slept in!" He shouted to himself as he managed to find his pair of black pants and a long sleeve shirt, putting them both on in a hurry. He was in a panic, the mus would have left by now and it was a good forty minute walk to get to the classes he needed to be at before. so as he lunged for his shoes and socks quickly and quickly tying them up he picked up a bag and grabbed his wallet. Moving past the window as he headed out the door he had to check his hair quickly, though it was a complete mess, but there was no time to do anything about it as he ran out the door, slamming it behind him. He tired flattening his brown hair while running down the paved street, his backpack open a little bit but didn't look like anything was going to fall out, his heartbeat raced as he ran down and turned into an alleyway, lined with garbage bins and a stray cat. He leaped over a bin that had fallen across the alley and the cat quickly jumped over a fence as it got scared. Without noticing, a pencil had fallen out of the backpack landing on the ground as the boy sprinted out of the alley.
Coming to a main road, the second bus was just leaving the bus stop, he was never used to running and as he looked, he collapsed knelt down looked at a ground, his hands on his knees as he rushed his breathing. He looked to his arm for the time but he had left his watch at home, the day was just starting but already looked like a terrible day ahead. He pulled his backpack in front of him and reached in for a drink bottle he always left in there, pulling it out, there was still half full with water. Uncapping the top of it, he took a drink to get back into gear and went over to the bus stop to take a seat for the next bus to come along.
"Well, I'm gonna be late anyway, may as not exhaust myself now." He said to himself again while he took a seat, an elderly lady who was also at the stop turning her head.
"Excuse me?" She asked, from not hearing what was said.
"Oh! I was just talking to myself. Never mind."
She turned away, rather snooty like as she was unhappy with the reply. He raised an eyebrow at her as he poked his tongue out while she was not looking then turned away, all he had to do now was wait for the bus and then he'll be at his class in no time. He brought out his bag again, reaching for a timetable. The road was busy with cars even though the morning rush hour was over already but this street always stayed packed with cars as it connected the city to the beach and most of the suburbs in the south so it was no wonder in the end that it stayed as busy. The timetable unfolded to show all the sceduled times the buses were going to come and looked back at his wrist. Of course he had already forgot that he had no watch on him, in that instant he hit his forehead with the palm of his hand. He wanted to ask the old lady for the time but she was probably going to just pretend he's talking to himself again. All he could do was wait for the bus.
Time went by as it felt like forever and even after ten minutes there was still no bus, he decided sleeping through his alarm was not good at all for his study, he did enjoy going to his classes. He was studying Photography too, though lately things had gotten a little slack and his essays were dropping in score when he passed them in. As he started thinking again about where he was actually going with the career path he chose, out of no-where the bus appeared in front of him and the old lady was already half in the bus, snapping out of it, he picked up his bag and got on while taking out his wallet to get the metro card out. Nodding to the bus driver, he pushed his card into machine as it validated, it was always useful to carry cards that lasted for the whole month, even if they were fairly expensive, but his work covered that cost fine.
The bus was packed completely with the elderly, many carrying their purses and shopping bags, it was the most active time for them, always seeming to leave so they miss all the teenagers on the bus. Though it was fine for him, there was still plenty of seats around and he was only about fifteen minutes away from his bus stop now too, he was quite relieved. Sitting down he looked out the window as the whole neighbourhood passed by, buisnesses, houses, and even that big rubber factory that produced a foul smell, he never enjoyed passing that place and always rolled up the window as he travelled in a car. His elbow rested on the window ledge as he lent his chin on his hand, each stop going by only stopping a few times to pick up more people. He thought to himself that being a bus driver must be fairly boring if it's always on the same route, day in, day out but the positive was the driver always got to meet new people or chat to the regulars, but he didn't want to be a bus driver. He didn't even have a licence and he was twenty-two.
He noticed that his stop was the next one and pressed the stop button to get off, it was actually a relief to finally be back at the campus, it had been the weekend so the lawn would have been cut and everything much more clean. As it got towards friday, everything always looked more dirty around the area and it became unpleasant when you had to be around it all day, he stepped off the bus and looked around. It was definitely his stop and the campus was right in front of him too, without haste he picked up the pase and headed towards the lecture room. It was in the building in front of him but on the second floor.
He looked up to the red brick building, it had been around for a few years but it's been upgraded many times since it had been built, the whole building seem to work together though so it was still not an eyesore as people passed the building. He entered the front double doors, made out of glass. And the hallways were littered with garbage bins, seats and vending machines. With all the students that came through here, they had to put in a dozen vending machines in just to keep everyone happy. Then when they did that, people continued to complain as there was not enough choice in drinks and snacks. It really did not matter to him but the students would rally about anything that they were not happy with. Heading up the wooden stairs, his hand slid across the metal handrail as he quickly placed each foot on each step.
Walking down the hallway, there was a another big area where students would hang out, it was like a big dome with the sun coming in from above, and pot plants where everywhere and more seats. A few students were scattered here, a few simply talking and chatting with a coffee or something in their hands, others deep in their books as they wrote down notes onto some paper that they had near by. There was one that even was upside-down on a chair while reading a book. He have a weird look to the student but just guessed it was another way of getting people motivated to study. He walked to the other side of the big open area, and arrived at the door of his lecture room that he needed to be in a while ago. Opening the door he peaked in tried to get in without any big notice.
